My research interests primarily focus on infants' emotional relationships in the home and with their key adults in group care provision. The focus of my doctorate thesis was Symbolic Gesturing & Practitioner’s Perspectives: supporting emotional relationships with infants in daycare.

I have a passion for conducting biographical interviews with practitioners and examining their views about the complex issues of attachment and emotional discourses within group care provision. I've also researched infant care and family relationships from a historical perspective and its relevance to contemporary practice. My research about infant care has expanded to include spiritual birth practices and the value of spiritual care.

I also enjoy exploring the value of ethnography, creative methodologies and counselling approaches as a way of listening to practitioner and parents voices in early years contexts.
